Jiangxi Xintao 6*20GP Alumina Balls Ship to Asia Market

Order status

In June,2026, Jiangxi Xintao Technology Co.,Ltd exported 6*20GP Alumina balls to Asia market.

It is a tender started from 2025. Many companies participate this tender. And we quoted 8 times, many times customer inform us it is last time to quote, and we rank NO. 5, rank NO. 2. . But next time this case come out again. We expect less for this case. One day one customer inform us she has a good news for us she win this case. All the efforts comes to a good end. finally Jiangxi Xintao win this case and ship out the cargo last month.

No pain, no gain. Some hard work pays off right away, but other efforts take consistent dedication and patience before you see the results

High Alumina Balls Introduction

99% High Alumina Balls are advanced engineering materials sintered from ultra-pure alumina powder, with an Al₂O₃ content of no less than 99%. Compared to conventional 90–95% alumina products, these balls exhibit superior densification (water absorption <0.5%), considerably higher compressive strength (typically >3,000 N per ball), exceptional thermal shock resistance (withstanding ΔT > 400 °C), and outstanding chemical stability against strong acids, alkalis, and high-temperature steam. These attributes make them the premier choice for the most demanding service conditions in petrochemical processing.

1. Catalyst Support & Bed Protection

In fixed-bed reactors, 99% high alumina ceramic balls act as a high-performance inert support medium and protective top/bottom layer for active catalyst systems. Their specific functions include:

  • Optimal Flow Distribution: The precisely sized spherical geometry ensures uniform gas-liquid dispersion, minimising channelling and maximising the effective contact between feedstocks and the catalyst surface.

  • Effective Contaminant Trapping: They capture suspended solids, coke fines, and corrosion scales from upstream streams, preventing fouling and pressure-drop build-up in the catalyst bed.

  • Load-Bearing Stability: With ultra-high crush resistance, they safely sustain the massive weight of catalyst charges and withstand high-velocity fluid impacts, preserving reactor internals under pressures up to 350 bar and temperatures as high as 1,200 °C.

  • Chemical Inertness: The 99% Al₂O₃ matrix is virtually non-reactive, even in aggressive environments containing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), chlorides, naphthenic acids, or steam. This inertness eliminates any risk of side-reaction catalysis or active-site poisoning, ensuring the primary catalyst maintains its selectivity and activity over extended cycles.

2. Thermal Energy Storage (Regenerative Heat Transfer)

99% alumina balls are also widely employed as a high-density regenerative heat storage medium in petrochemical furnaces, hot-blast stoves, and regenerative thermal oxidisers (RTOs). Their high specific heat capacity (approx. 880–920 J/kg·K) and excellent thermal conductivity enable:

  • Efficient Heat Capture & Release: During the heating phase, they absorb and store sensible heat from hot flue gases; in the cooling phase, they release that stored heat to preheat incoming combustion air, feed gas, or process streams.
  • Significant Energy Savings: This regenerative cycle substantially reduces fuel consumption and lowers CO₂ emissions, directly contributing to the energy-efficiency targets of modern petrochemical complexes.
  • Exceptional Thermal Cycling Durability: The near-zero porosity and homogeneous microstructure of 99% alumina minimise spalling and cracking even after thousands of rapid heating/cooling cycles, guaranteeing reliable performance throughout a typical 5 to 8 years service life.

3. Key Petrochemical Applications

Thanks to their superior performance, 99% inert alumina ceramic balls are standard charge materials in the following critical units:

  • Catalytic Reforming and Hydrotreating: Protecting precious-metal (Pt-Re) catalysts in naphtha reformers and serving as support layers for hydrodesulphurisation (HDS) and hydrocracking reactors.
  • Steam Cracking (Ethylene / Propylene Production): Withstanding extreme temperatures and thermal shocks in pyrolysis furnace transfer-line exchangers and quench-cooler systems.
  • Syngas and Hydrogen Production: Utilised in shift converters, methanation reactors, and partial-oxidation units to support iron or copper-based catalysts while also buffering thermal stresses.
  • Sulphur Recovery (Claus Process): Providing stable inert beds for titanium-dioxide or activated-alumina catalysts, while simultaneously acting as a heat-regenerative layer to smooth exothermic reaction temperatures.
  • Tail-Gas Treatment and Waste-Heat Recovery: Used in RTOs and regenerative air preheaters to maximise thermal efficiency and meet strict environmental emission regulations.

4. Operational Advantages

The extremely low attrition rate and minimal dust generation of 99% ceramic balls drastically reduce the frequency of reactor shutdowns and bed replacements. This translates into lower maintenance costs, longer campaign lengths, and consistent product quality—all of which are vital for competitive and sustainable petrochemical production. In essence, 99% high-alumina balls are not merely passive fillers; they are engineered performance media that combine mechanical reliability, thermal efficiency, and chemical resilience to optimise both process yield and operational economics.
