why do we need Molecular Sieve for the aerosol industry?
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and dimethyl ether (DME) are widely used as propellant gases in the production of aerosols. For the sake of safety, ethyl mercaptan has a strong odor of gas, this strong odor must be removed before the gas is loaded into the aerosol tank, this liquefied petroleum gas deodorization equipment uses activated carbon, molecular sieve, silica gel and other adsorption characteristics to remove the taste of liquefied petroleum gas, to meet the standards of aerosol product production.
Molecular Sieve is a desiccant that has very small holes which act as a filter to let only some smaller and equaled molecules go in, and the bigger ones cannot. Mercaptan is a sulfur compound that exists in LPG. The molecular sieve 13X pellets are found to be the most effective method in removing mercaptans from LPG.
