DCHBF is a solid core block style filter drier designed especially for use on liquid line in reversible refrigeration Heat Pump application.

DCHSF suction line filter drier is used in air-conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration system, recovery machine and in which the available space in the suction line is limited such as in heat pump application.

What is an AC Filter Drier?

If a compressor is the beating heart of an air conditioner’s sealed system, then the filter drier would be its liver. It’s used to protect the rest of the system from being contaminated by outside air, debris, or other materials. This is achieved through two functions:

  • Absorbing contaminants like water or acid
  • Physical refrigerant filtration

Even though the cooling system is closed off from the outside atmosphere, water can still make its way inside. Sealed system leaks, motor windings, and trapped air from improper evacuations are all potential sources of contamination.

A working AC drier will absorb and filter out these hazardous materials, allowing the sealed system to function efficiently.

The AC dryer, also known as the receiver, filter or dehydrator, is located in the high-pressure section of your AC system. The dryer looks like a series of small metal canisters and can usually be found in the plumbing between the condenser outlet and the expansion valve inlet.

The AC dryer is an integral part of the AC system in your vehicle. It serves three main functions:

  • The dryer acts as a filter and helps trap debris and other contaminates that may be inside the AC system.
  • When oil and refrigerant are not needed for system operation, such as during periods of low cooling demand, the dryer acts as a temporary storage container.
  • During manufacturing, some moisture can get into the AC components. Moisture can also enter the system due to humidity in the air. The dryer contains a desiccant that functions to absorb the moisture that may have gotten trapped in the system.
