Xintao traveled to Tianjin to provide carbon molecular sieve(CMS) installation guidance for a cooperative customer, a pharmaceutical company. The main reason was that the air compressor in the customer’s nitrogen generator was flooded, causing the air compressor to rust and malfunction.
Filling Process
Preparation Stage
Before filling, the Xintao team first ensured that personal protection was in place and wore necessary equipment such as protective gloves and masks.
Pretreatment Work
Removing the carbon molecular sieve pellet from the nitrogen generator and polishing the rusted parts of the air compressor, and then laying two layers of 60-mesh stainless steel wire mesh. This measure is intended to effectively prevent the machine from further rusting and provide an additional layer of protection. Next, lay a 5-cm thick layer of activated alumina desiccant to prevent the carbon molecular sieve from failing due to moisture.
Loading stage
Entering the filling stage, the Xintao team carefully poured the CMS slowly into the adsorption tower of the nitrogen generator, emphasizing the uniformity of the filling process, especially the tower mouth part must be ensured to be full and free of gaps to avoid local accumulation or excessive gaps that affect performance. At the same time, they vibrated the adsorption tower in time to ensure that it was packed tightly, thereby optimizing the adsorption efficiency.
After carbon molecular sieve was loaded, the team covered it with a 100 cm thick palm mat. With its good elasticity, the palm mat not only plays a buffering role, but also effectively prevents the adsorbent from sinking or pulverizing when the nitrogen generator is running, ensuring the stable operation of the equipment.
Inspection Stage
To ensure the performance of the equipment, the Xintao team strictly checked the sealing of all interfaces to eliminate the risk of leakage, and put an end to the successful completion of the loading work. Finally, after testing, it was found that the nitrogen purity produced by Xintao carbon molecular sieve was as high as 99.999%, and the customer was very satisfied with it.

Working Principle
The working principle of carbon molecular sieve adsorbent is to use the sieving characteristics of carbon molecular pores to separate oxygen and nitrogen, thereby obtaining the product of nitrogen. When the carbon molecular sieve adsorbs impurity gases, the pore size only acts as a channel, and the adsorbed molecules are transported to the micropores, which allows molecules smaller than the pore size to diffuse rapidly, while limiting the entry of molecules with large diameters. The micropores have a strong instantaneous affinity for oxygen molecules, so they can be used to separate oxygen and nitrogen in the air.
