Xintao activated alumina is produced by dehydroxylating aluminum hydroxide. It features uniform particles, a smooth surface, and an extremely high specific surface area. The hydroxyl groups (-OH) on its surface physically adsorb free inorganic chlorides (such as HCl and Cl₂) in gases or liquids within its pores through intermolecular forces such as van der Waals forces and hydrogen bonds.
Activated alumina dechlorination agent (KA405) boasts a wide operating temperature range, uniform activity at both high and low temperatures, excellent water resistance, and resistance to migration of active components and post-reaction chlorine. It can be used for dehydrochlorination of syngas and to protect catalysts and adsorbents.

Dechlorination activated alumina is primarily used in the petroleum and petrochemical industries to remove hydrogen chloride and other impurities. It can also dehydrogenate chloride to produce hydrogen chloride. Xintao activated alumina balls can reduce hydrogen chloride (HCl) concentration in feed gas from as high as 200 ppm to below 0.1 ppm, meeting the stringent requirements for downstream precision catalyst protection and equipment corrosion prevention. Furthermore, this activated alumina adsorbent is highly tolerant to varying operating conditions and operates stably over a wide temperature range from room temperature to 400°C and pressures from atmospheric pressure to 5.0 MPa.

Xintao activated alumina ball has the characteristics of high strength, low wear, and no powdering when exposed to water. Its main application categories are desiccant, fluorine and arsenic removal agent, special catalyst for hydrogen peroxide, catalyst carrier, dechlorination agent, etc.
Xintao activated alumina desiccant can be used to dry permanent gases such as air, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide; petroleum cracking gases such as ethylene, propylene, butane, butene and other hydrocarbon gases; gases in pressure swing adsorption in natural gas and air separation industries, etc.
Activated alumina bead has a rich microporous structure, a large specific surface area, and strong thermal stability, which makes it has a stronger adsorption capacity and can adsorb more gas or liquid molecules. At the same time, it can still maintain good stability at high temperatures. In contrast, ordinary alumina has a smaller specific surface area and no pores. It does not have the same adsorption properties as activated alumina ball and may undergo phase change or sintering at high temperatures, resulting in a decrease in its performance.
Activated alumina adsorbent has a strong affinity for water due to its large specific surface area, large number of micropores, high dispersibility, etc. It is also an adsorbent for polar molecules with a huge adsorption capacity. However, silica gel has a strong adsorption effect on water, and its ability to absorb other gases will be greatly reduced after absorbing water.
Activated alumina desiccant is typically regenerated by your compressed air dryer. A heatless or heated compressed air dryer uses hot air or gas to regenerate it. The heat removes the small water vapors and droplets that are trapped inside the tiny holes of the activated alumina bead.
