How The Adsorption Air Dryer Works?

Adsorption dryer is through the "pressure change "(pressure swing adsorption principle) to achieve drying effect. Since the capacity of air to hold water vapor is inversely proportional to pressure, a portion of its compressed dry air (‘purged’) depressurizes and expands to atmospheric pressure. Such pressure change makes the expanded compressed air drier, then the dried air flow through the desiccant bedstypical materials used are Xintao molecular sieves and activated alumina), absorbing water and bringing water vapor out of the dryer tower to achieve dehumidification purpose.

The two towers work in circulation.The first dry the incoming compressed air while the second one is being regenerated. Each tower switches tasks when the other tower is completely regenerated. without heat source, and continuously provide dry compressed air to the user's gas system. 

Loading Process of Adsorption Air Dryers

Each adsorption dryer tank is designed with molecular sieve feeding inlet (above the tank) and outlet (below the tank),sealed with screw cover.

1. First step is equipment pressure relief by removing tank cover and sealing pad of upper feeding port, and also removing sealing cover of lower discharging port.

2. Allow the desiccants to drain out of the tank, if necessary, manually draw the desiccants out.

3. There are filter screens at inlet and outlet of the tank, for purpose of isolating dust impurities. Remove and clean them.

4. Follow the original way to install the sealing cover plate of the lower discharge port to ensure tight sealing.

5. Add Xintao molecular sieves into the feeding port until it is completely filled, then install the sealing cover plate to ensure sealing tightly.

Due to the initial filling, there is still certain gap among molecular sieves beds which can not be completely filled. Run the device properly for a period of time. Re-open the feeding port, fill Xintao molecular sieve and seal it again.


Activated Alumina/Molecular Sieve In Air Dryer
