Molecular sieves come in different shapes and sizes, including microbeads, spheres, pellets, and powders, with different sizes. However, spherical beads have advantages over other shapes as it provides lower pressure drop, is more solid and wear resistant due to roll forming, and has good strength i.e. higher crush strength required per unit area .
Another advantage is that the bulk density of molecular sieve beads is generally higher, which means that fewer beads of molecular sieve are required to achieve the same adsorption capacity than other shapes.
Xintao provides different types of molecular sieve products to meet your needs. Main molecular sieve types: 3A, 4A, 5A and 13X. The type depends on the chemical formula and pore size of the molecule.
Molecular sieves work by adsorbing gas or liquid molecules smaller than the effective diameter of their pores, while excluding those larger than the openings.
The pore size of both Type A and Type X molecular sieves is tightly controlled during the manufacturing process. Sodium, calcium, and potassium ions can be exchanged with each other in the molecule to adjust the size of pore openings.
3A Molecular Sieve is commonly used for drying of gases and polar liquids (methanol, ethanol) and easily polymerizable substances, such as unsaturated hydrocarbons (ethylene, propylene, acetylene and butadiene).
3A Molecular sieve in the form of beads have the ability to adsorb water as hollow glass dryer and to significantly ensure the life of hollow glass windows by preventing the flow of glass without freezing or damaging the glass surface,even at very low temperatures.
4A Molecular Sieve is commonly used for drying of organic liquids (solvents, oils, gasoline and other saturated hydrocarbons), air, liquid gases (propane, butane), as well as noble and other gases (H2, N2, He, Ar, etc.)
5A Molecular Sieve is a dependable desiccant for the following applications: Normal paraffin separating process. Oxygen/hydrogen PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) process. Refining SF6 refrigerant for power (removing moisture and hydrocarbon)
13X Molecular Sieve is a highly selective adsorbent designed for the elimination of trace contaminants from air and other gases. It can also be used for the desulphurization (sweetening) of natural gas and other fluids, especially for the removal of mercaptanes, and for drying of gases and liquids.
