What Are The Differences Between Inert Ceramic Balls And Alumina Grinding Ceramic Balls?

2022-04-13

The Catalyst bed support inert ceramic ball and the grinding ceramic balls are both alumina ceramic balls.

The Catalyst bed support inert ceramic ball are used as support media in the catalyst and adsorbent tower. The grinding ceramic balls are mainly used for grinding. The raw materials for both are the same.

So what is the difference between them? Today let’s take about the difference between Catalyst bed support inert ceramic ball and grinding ceramic balls together.

Inert Ceramic Ball

The key function of the support media ceramic ball is uesd to strengthen and protection of the catalyst support. According to the content of alumina in the catalyst support bed inert ceramic ball, ceramic balls can be divided into ordinary ceramic balls, inert alumina ceramic balls, medium alumina ceramic balls, high alumina ceramic balls, 99% pure alumina ceramic balls, porous ceramic balls and microporous ceramic balls, etc.

Alumina Grinding Ball

The grinding of grinding ceramic balls is a kind of precision grinding system, such as ball mills, vibration grinders, etc. The grinding hardness, bulk density, corrosion resistance, wear resistance and grinding efficiency of ceramic balls are higher than ordinary stone or natural stone. Commonly used in ceramics, glass, enamel, paint, chemical and other industries. According to the different alumina content, ceramic grinding balls can be divided into 60-95% ceramic alumina grinding balls, corundum grinding ball and zirconia ball.

So what is the essential difference between these two types of ceramic alumina packing balls and alumina grinding balls?

First

The sizes of the two are different.

The alumina filler ceramic ball is smaller, usually 10-30 mm in diameter, and the most commonly used is 25 mm. The grinding ceramic balls usually use 50 mm or more.

Second

The content of alumina is different.

Ordinary Catalyst bed support inert ceramic ball have low alumina content. In the range of 17% to 90%, due to various requirements such as hardness, grinding ceramic balls requires a higher aluminum content with 65%, 75%, 92% and 95%.
